My cousin found herself in some dire financial straights recently. It felt really good to be able to help her out. I vividly remember the times when I was the one who needed help. There always seemed to be someone there for me, so it’s nice to return the favor.
It’s funny, but every time I see this on my list, I remember how good I have it. I grew up poor and abused. I had a lot of rough times, but I graduated high school, eventually joined the Marine Corps in order to get money for college, then went to a top MBA school. I’m now married to the nicest man ever and have two fantastic children. My daughter will often say to me, “I love our family.” It makes me so happy to have helped create a loving environment like that. We aren’t wealthy, but we’re certainly not poor. Our house isn’t big, but we love it. Our cars aren’t extravagant, but they’re reliable.
Life is fantastic. Just fantastic.
