perform at an open mic night

Done! Looks like I found a new hobby. Worth doing.
It’s very difficult to gauge audience reactions. Even in an informal setting, you’re probably under a light and can’t see too many faces. But I didn’t bomb, so I’m pretty happy with how I did. Plus I got a few congratulations and heard a bit of laughter, so I may even stretch to say that I did well for my first time.

It’s happening this Tuesday, at a comedy open mic. Not much to say. I have five minutes and need to get that together tomorrow (don’t want to be over-rehearsed).
Whether I do well or not, this will be my first goal on this website completed since joining. It may be replaced by “Perform WELL at an open mic night” after this Tuesday. We’ll see.

I’m going to get shown around some of NY’s better open mic’s, and I am also being put on their mailing lists (as better open mic’s tend to be pseudo-booked, I guess). I definitely want to do this by the end of the month.
I’m going to put a bit together within the next week or so.
