Smooth sailing in the wood shop.
Lunch with a still sort-of-new friend. Hearing about her recent travels in Polland and N Africa. I like the way she uses profound language in a casual way.

Smelling my way to a delicious hot meal made with love.
An almost overlooked kiss before the sleep got the better of us both.

Finding clarity in the old woods and later in the old weathered lumber.

I can still slip away to the lingering lightness of floating in the river in Christian’s arms. The rush of feeling cold and alive. I look to the water, but I think that’s an old trick. Now I want to be the rock.

But glad to be back. It was a beautiful day. Sleeping in. A long walk with good friends. The cool breeze at the beach. A slice of bachlava from the farmers market. And I just have to say – I LOVE my dog. My best friend.

Ribbon-cutting ceremony for the playhouse. All the kids at the party went right into full play-mode, opening the doors, running back and forth to look through each panel. Even as we stood up front for speeches I could hear there sweet voices singing as and dancing in their own secret world behind us.

The Chair came up to Christian and I and mentioned an opportunity he’d like to nominate me for. It made me feel like I’ve finally pierced the inner circle – though I am not happy that there is such a thing.

Wonderful little after party BBQ. Nice to see everyone finally able to unwind. Tony and Josh had a great time playing together and everyone got silly after a while.

I was walking across the street and looked up to see a momma birdy feeding her babies from her nest inside the intersection light. There is a little hole in the pole that is just her size and I looked around to realize that the same scene was happening on all four corners.

Lunch with Kara in the sun. Finishing my last assignment. Talking to dad on the way home. Laying in Christian’s arms.

When look around at my friends, both near and far, I realize that I am absolutely surrounded by brilliant creative minds. It fills me with hope and excitement about the future.

Feeling good and tired after an accomplished hard day’s work. Old friends in a new city. Eating A mid day walk to encouraging words between sweethearts. Talking to family over the phone while eating chocolate ice cream in the sun. Clean house, clean laundry, new groceries. Big fat juicy scallops for dinner.

My first glass of cold pressed coffee. Cash’s ridiculous antics. – hamming it up for gradeschool girls and peeing in the public watering hole at the dog park. Catching up with Pati. Ship and shore in the sun over small talk with Magda. 4 amazing Ted talks. People watching on the bus.

Feeling a new commitment to my studies. A call from my dad to tell me how much he believes in me and my doing what I am doing.

The excuse to dig into Not a Cornfield – a loosely buried treasure. Keeping my nose to the grindstone and finishing well and on time. A compliment on my sketch of the metabolic city.

My mom and aunt are planning a visit.

A wink from a glowing sliver of the moon as I rolled down the shades before bed. A good nights sleep.
