i have been reading the politics of women’s spirituality: essays on the rise of spiritual power within the feminist movement and i have been filled with rage, silenced in awe, moved to tears, and made giddy with excitement and hope as i read my way through… and all of a sudden i am recognizing the deep entanglement of my feminist and pagan roots, and how they lean one upon the other, and influence and inspire each other. it has been difficult reading of the nine million women murdered in the Burning Times, but liberating to read of all the millions of women (and people) around the world who are reclaiming a pagan-inspired existence, one which honours a Goddess, and a deeper connection to the Earth which includes pagan/feminist rituals and magick. i feel very renewed in my faith, and as though this connection between my feminism and paganism (which seems so obvious to me now) is something to explore, to learn from and share. i’m always embarking on some new journey…
