I made this today for my wife’s lunch. It was fairly good, but not exactly to my liking. It’s a bit too sour for my tastes, but my wife liked it a lot. You can find the recipe on the foodnetwork.com website at:

Friday I did most of the cooking for a Quinoa Chowder we’d never tried before. My wife did a lot of the prep work because she was very hungry and wanted to speed things along. The chowder ended up tasting quite good and we had plenty for dinner Friday and then again for a late lunch on Saturday.

My wife wasn’t working the previous two weeks, so I didn’t make dinner. This week I made it Thursday, but used a tried and true recipe. So this weekend I’ll find a couple of recipes for next week to give a try.

Unfortunately it didn’t go over that well. I enjoyed the simple flavors, but it was too simple for my wife. I served it over quinoa, so it would have been nicer with more sauce. In case you still want to try the recipe, it’s available at the link below:

I want to find and try ten new dinner recipes so that I can cook dinner for my wife on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My wife cannot eat wheat or soy, so I can’t use those items. We also only eat fish for meat, nothing else. I think this will be an interesting challenge and I’m looking foward to it.
I’m sure several of the recipes will use quinoa (a grain like seed from South America), but I’ll also be looking for ones which use corn meal or polenta and I know I’ll be using rice as well.
I’ll post what I find here along with a review of the finished product.
