B.Y.O.Bag Project (A movement to save the environment one bag at a time)

I just ordered some really cute bags. I have stopped using plastic and have a couple reusable. Other than that I have been using paper. But now I am getting overloaded with paper bags which is silly since I can just reuse bags. This is really an easy thing to do. Hopefully it will catch on. I don’t see anyone at the grocery store where I live using reusable bags.

So we just went and rented some videos and sure enough what do I notice my daughter carrying out of the car when we got home…a plastic bag! Geez! They are so sneaky. Like weeds or aphids or something. You really have to keep an eye out. They pop up everywhere.

I kept forgetting my reusable bag. ugh! I am back on track now. It is a very conscious effort. Now I notice others who have reusable bags or don’t use plastic. There aren’t very many…

I had been using the plastic bags for um…dog clean up when I walked him. So when I stopped using plastic grocery bags, I was worried about what I’d use. (paper towels and toilet paper are much more messy) I have started saving the bags from bread and hamburger buns etc. and these work just as well.

I’ve put some things in place to cut down on the plastic including using reusable bags,using paper or taking no bag at all.

I bought my first reusable bag yesterday. It’s amazing how inexpensive they are (99cents). It also held a lot.

I had only gotten a few things and carried out my own groceries. I felt a little weird at first but it passes quickly. I’m thinking of getting some reusable bags but for now I’m using paper.
