My daughter’s afghan is finished. Now I get to pick the next one. It’s 95 degrees today. I may wait until fall to start another.

I only have a few more rows of my daughter’s afghan. I think I may make the next one for my aunt.
So I finished my friend’s baby afghan. I brought it to her baby blessing yesterday and they put it in the middle of the floor with the “sacred things”. I had been so worried about it because I thought it was crooked. My daughter kept telling me to knock it off and not criticize my work so much. Well, I really had to accept it when it was lying there in the middle of the floor for everyone to see. It was such a caring environment, I didn’t care that it wasn’t perfect. It was nice.
I am working like mad to get my friend’s afghan done this week. It’s really cute, non-traditional colors. It will be great for either a boy or girl which is great since they’re not finding out until the birth.
Finished dad’s and gave it to him for his birthday. I am now crocheting little ones, (along with my daughter) to donate to the humane society for the kitties.
I just need to add the tassles or actually decide if I want tassles. Next I think I might try a small baby blanket for my friend. It feels weird not having any crocheting to work on. I’d like to always be working on something. without pressure of a deadline. Just something there I can work on when I’m watching T.V. or hanging out. I need to invest in yarn….
My 10 year old is sick so I’ve had time the past two days to work on this. I feel bad she’s sick but she’s pretty easy to take care of now that she’s older. I get her tea, run a bath, make some soup. It’s actually pretty relaxing to me. But the afghan is getting bigger. I’m excited.
I was almost halfway done with my afghan and had to take it almost all the way out again. Somehow I had been slowing decreasing my # of stitches in each row so it was angled really terrible. I was very irritated and sad when I first discovered it and realized the only fix was to take it all out. But I did it and started fresh. Now I know what I was doing wrong and I can keep checking it along the way. And hopefully it was good for my daughter to see you can start again and it’s okay.
I started my dad’s afghan last night and it’s looking really pretty. And it’s going pretty quickly. I’m excited.
