Before bed — 2 years ago
I was meditating every day before bed, but that’s stopped over the past week that I’ve adjusted to sleeping with someone else again instead of having the whole empty bed to myself. A new plan is needed… hmmmm.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the descriptions I’ve read of T’ai Chi as a moving meditation. If I could get to a level where I’m more comfortable with the forms I could definitely see this as a good place to go. It would actually be in-line with three goals (daily meditation, daily exercise, and learning T’ai Chi), so there’s the extra benefit of multitasking.
So, my goal is every day, 15 minutes, and we’ll see if it becomes meditative within a couple weeks. If not, I may keep doing it, but begin checking out some books on guided meditation, since much of my exercise is out of doors these days, making it hard to meditate after when my body is worn out and my brain relaxed enough to not be spinning in 7 different directions at once.
When I was keeping up with exercising almost-daily, I’d started meditating right after. When I fell out of the habit, and was only making it about three times a week, and all of that out-of-doors things like swimming, walking, and tennis, I stopped. It was really helping me be more at peace, handle conflict more positively, and manage my time better. Just 10-15 minutes a day was enough to feel centered. I’d really like to get back to that.
