Just this morning...

Okay, so I’ve been looking through supposed “language universals,” and “lingusitic typology.” Imagine a mix-and-match “garanimals” language creation process, if you will. I think these “universals” may be bullshit. The word-order arguments are challenged by Coptic. I had adopted this goal as a clever amusement, a funny ha-ha, but I think in the right hands you could really shake Chomsky’s lingusitics this way. Of course, computer languages have probably already done this, but no one noticed because they “weren’t real.” Well, reading about linguistics is fun, at least.

Not that I believe a damned word of it.
English is not a tonal language?
Aight?
Print communications must represent vocalic expression?
OMGWTFBBQ?

Who knows?

I had a very bad dream. In this dream, I understood that Enochian (about which I know little) was actually Hebrew with word breaks at odd spaces. The translations of the two texts were internally consistent, but did NOT say the same things. In fact, the Hebrew was unholy blasphemy, while the Enochian was pretentious philosophical twaddle. I felt like a dirty secret had been uncovered. I blamed the DEBBIL.

Now, not having anxiety dreams about my dissertation, I am intrigued by creating a language. I have no plans of “reforming” “language.” I need more of a system of private notes, like Rashi. I’d like to see what I could put together.

It needs to exist in written AND spoken forms. I’m tempted to make a “new” semitic language, but …. it seems to easy. Perhaps I should make up something agglutinative?
