About two years ago, my academic advisor went into the hospital. It didn’t look like he would live, so out of frustration and fear, I began writing a novel. I used NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) to get the first 50,000 words. After Christmas break, my advisor was back and I began research again. Still, I have this rough draft of a mediocre novel hanging over my head. Should I edit it up, into something more readable and historically accurate? It seems a shame to cut my losses.
