build a website

This project has mysteriously reentered my life because I am working with the sworn enemy of Heiberg. Consequently, the project has changed shape. Heiberg changed a lot of the text in some strange ways. She wants me to restore that and provide an explanation of it. Lots of work and it may take a whole year, but probably pretty important.

I’ve built a few websites in my day. I took down my old personal site, because… well, hey, it’s not 1996 anymore, is it? So here’s my new website plan:
Step One: put Heiberg’s text of Ptolemy’s Almagest on the web.
Step Two: edit according to Toomer’s corrections to the text.
Step Three: provide an interlinear translation.
Step Four: animate all the geometric proofs in Flash.
Ideally, I would like to put this project on its own server. It might be nice to include some moderated forums for discussion, etc.
