go on a ghost hunt

I joined a Yahoo-oriented ghost huntig group. I am more afraid of potentially weird members than any ghosts that might get called up. I am pretty nervous about meeting people from the internet, but I am eager to get ghost hunting.

One of my friends - the same girl who said she would help me learn to surf - knows about a site called Nine Men’s Misery. I’m thinking of making an investigation out of it. A good investigation will require that I achieve “not be afraid of ghosts.” Perhaps hypnosis?

Look, when I was a child, I was a “Reluctant Reader.” Today, I would refer to myself as “aliterate.” I find no problem with this, because most people only read books with which they plan on agreeing anyway. (Being perverse, I tend to read books with which I will probably disagree.) Well, when you are a “Reluctant Reader” well-meaning teachers slap lurid paperbacks in your hands. For boys, these books tend to be about ghosts, hot rods, motorcycles and sports. Long past childhood, I have retained an interest in all these things. I’d like to go on a ghost hunt. In part, I’d like the tactical experience of establishing a perimeter and monitoring activity. (See, if I use polysyllabic expressions, this goofy goal takes on an air of respectability!) Also, I just get good and creeped out over EVPs and those grain night-vision videos. I’d like to go with some people who are experienced, though.
