the girl at Starbucks today,

during my one trip outside the conference hotel, told me, “You seem like a really nice person.” She said it embarrassed-like; I hadn’t done anything but order a grande soy cinnamon latte like the soulless yuppette that I am. I told her she seemed nice too.

That just made my day. I’m not inherently the nicest person, so it’s good to see that maybe my efforts paid off.
