I gave a buck to a guy who was begging on the sidewalk where my friend and I were playing chess. It doesn’t count, but it was the first in-person thing I’ve been able to do since I adopted this goal.

financially, 3 years ago

I have a bunch of money flying around right now. I’m owed ~10% of my net worth in travel reimbursements, plus I got a lump-sum fellowship check at the beginning of last term and am only starting to get regular RA paychecks again. So substantial financial charitable contributions will have to wait, but I’m keeping my eyes open for opportunities for the one-on-one help that this goal seems to be all about.
