I’m trying to name next steps for all my goals, but I have a history of jinxing this particular goal if I talk about it too much. So, let’s just say that I should check another one off this July and leave it at that.
Business meeting in New Orleans, but I did get a chance to walk around enough to feel like I was really there. I enjoyed it a lot more than expected…I’ve become much more amused at drunken fratboy hijinks since becoming a prof, and I think that helped.
Howdy from Denver! I think this will be my last new state in ‘08, since my friends’ trip to Montana coincides with the start of the fall semester.
29 down, 21 to go. It could be a good year for state-visiting: I’m almost certainly adding a new one in June, and possibly another in August.
I totally jinxed myself when the last two trips I wrote about didn’t materialize. So I’ll be coy and just say that I have a meeting in Feb., for which I’ve already purchased tickets, that will add another state to the list.
In 2006, Ohio was the only state I got to check off the list; I had a meeting in New Orleans all lined up, but had to back out at the last minute because of a paper deadline.
My travel calendar for 2007 is already disturbingly full, with one trip to a new state: a summer vacation in Alaska with old friends!
Just got back from my first trip to Ohio, and now I get an email confirming that I will be going to New Orleans in November, which will be my first time in Louisiana! Woo hoo!
