We’ve spiced up our lessons with board games and card games in Latin. It’s cool! My 8-year-old niece is alarmingly good at it!

Our goal is to be able to read Winnie the Pooh and Harry Potter in Latin. After that, Ovid won’t be so difficult. ;) After one summer of lessons, we can already read simple comic strips, but it might be a while before we plunge into literature.
My niece and I are loving our Latin classes. We ordered a CD of Latin songs to help us with our grammar. It’s called “Lyrical Latin: Learning Latin Through Music” and it’s just amazing. The first song teaches the present tense verb conjugations to the tune of the Farmer in the Dell. Very effective!
My 7-year-old niece inspired me to do this. She is studying Latin this summer and she asked me to join her. We have had two lessons and we can already conjugate four verbs and identify a few animals. I think this will be fun!
