Save $10,000

I’m up to $5,600! Hopefully I can save another thousand this month; or at least $500. :)

My parents set up a small account for me years ago in stocks and investments, and now that I have turned 21 it is mine. I had no idea it existed, but I’m excited to watch it grow as the economy gets better. So as of today I have $5,300 to my name!

Now, Phil and I have a joint checking account but we haven’t gotten around to combining our savings yet. So I will see how close to $10,000 I can get in my own savings before I add his money in also. :)

My parents gave Phil and I a very generous house warming gift of $1000 when we moved into our new place. So now, I have around $2000 in my savings account! Each month I would like to put a couple hundred dollars towards my savings.

Right now I have about $1000 in my savings account, and I would like to post the new balance every month or so to keep an eye on my progress. With a new baby coming in May and more bills than ever, saving money and spending less is becoming very important.
