The value of a college degree in America has been diluted to the point of near worthlessness. I should have gone directly into the work force and pursued experience and appropriate certifications in my field (information technology).
The higher education system in America exists for one purpose: to create the next generation of indentured servants for the corporate working and banking world.
They want you coming out of college with 6 figures in student loan debt and credit card payments. This ensures that you have no choice but to spend your entire life working to service those debts.
The people I know without college degrees make more than those with college degrees. It is possible, but not likely, that this may change down the road when those of us with degrees are able to move into management positions.
80% of currently college graduates are female. It seems to me that only women have the patience to waste 4 years of their lives for some grades and a piece of paper. All of the truly intelligent males out there are working, making money, and living their dreams.
However, I have this worthless piece of paper now so I may as well make use of it. Oh, believe me, I will make it seem as though my degree makes me better than you. I don’t think it does, but I have to project that impression to Human Resource drones and hiring managers to even compete with the smarter people I have to compete with for jobs that have much more real world experience than me.
