I started reading a used book today. After 50 or so pages, I found a bookmark left by a previous reader. I’m used to using receipts or whatever scrap of paper is handy as a bookmark, but this person clearly took the time to label it as a bookmark and doodle little hearts and such on it. It made me happy to find it, and it also brought back memories of all the notes I’ve left in library books when I returned them.
Also satisfying – being able to spend a Sunday afternoon at home reading for fun!

This morning, my husband and I spent an hour and a half sipping coffee, eating pastry, and chatting.
I love weekend mornings when we have no pressing business and are in no hurry to go anywhere. It’s great to be able to sit and reconnect, especially when you’ve got a hot mug of coffee cupped in your hands.
Pictured: a coffee that we had about a year in Barcelona. The cup expresses the same sentiments as lazy weekend mornings at the café.

I’ve been blessed in that I rarely have to use an alarm clock, but I definitely remember the days when my alarm clock drove me out of bed at an ungodly hour.
Waking up, glancing at the clock and seeing that you can go back to sleep for a few hours is wonderful.. unless of course, you are unable to fall back to sleep. Thankfully, that rarely happens to me anymore.

I’m addicted to carbonated beverages.
My favorite is probably Coke Zero, followed closely by Diet Coke/Diet Pepsi, but I’ll drink just about anything most days.
There is something about the sound a can of soda makes as it is being opened. I anticipate the cool, bubbly beverage dancing its way across my tongue..

Back when I lived in the US and had a bath tub, I would take baths on a daily basis. And while bathing, I was in the habit of putting my head under water. After just about every bath, and surely any time I would go swimming, I would get water in my ears.
I’m not terribly fond of that sensation, but I LOVE the feeling of the water releasing, like when I would go lie down and have my watery ear facing the pillow. Goodbye water!

Gross? Yes.
But so very, very satisfying.

I realize that the subject line may sound a little macabre, but it is not meant to be.
My cats like to snuggle, and most of the time, I do too. Almost every day, I wake up with at least one of them nestled into my armpit or draped across my neck.
And when we wake up, all warm and snuggly, they always have this really sweet, warm (if that can be a scent descriptor) smell about them.
