I ended up not making any butterflies while living in the US and am living in Poland now.
Next month, when my mom comes to visit for Christmas, we’ll be visiting the memorial at Auschwitz and Birkenau, inch’Allah.
I think it would be fitting to use the paper from the program to make a butterfly or two, and I hope that my choice in doing so would be understood and not taken as offensive.
Maybe my mom would like to make one as well..

I look forward to making at least one butterfly to send in to the Holocaust Museum of Houston.
Over 1.5 million children died as a result of the Holocaust, and to honor them, the Holocaust Museum of Houston is collecting butterflies that people create for the project.
I am thinking of getting/finding my art supplies and pretty papers and inviting some of my friends over to make butterflies.. that is, of course, once I move back to the US in three weeks, find a place to live and get settled in.
