I should be happy, right?
Unfortunately, I have been in too much pain to effectively work out, or to really maximize my time at the gym. So although my body was there, I was not able to push myself.
There are a few things I can do without increasing my pain levels too much, and I know some exercise is better than no exercise.
I am looking forward to getting my pain levels back under control so I can start busting ass at the gym again.

but I would like to add that eight days ago, I had an awesome work out:
15 minutes elliptical
15 minutes stationary bike
30 minutes various weights machines
5 minutes stretching
50 crunches for good measure
I was sore the next day, but it felt great.
I can’t wait to be well enough to get back in the gym!

The other night, Syed & I signed up at a semi-local gym. Its halfway between his new job and home, which in addition to making his commute less painful, makes it close enough to bike to in good weather, and not long of a drive on colder days.
I’m very happy that we got the membership. I feel like it gives us something to do and its good for us. We have a split membership between two different clubs. One has an indoor pool and the other has really nice cardio facilities and class offerings.
Sadly, due to being sick and otherwise feeling like crap, I have not yet been able to take advantage of it, but I am hoping that by this weekend, we will be able to work out there.

My local yoga studio has a special going where they give you two free class sessions if you buy a ten-class card. I picked one up yesterday, so now I know I’ll be even more likely to get there weekly.
Oh yes, and I also went to class last night. My husband joined me, and we rode bikes there instead of driving. Hooray!

But I have been exercising!
And now that I am done with summer classes and wedding stuff, I can focus on exercising more, cooking healthy food, and writing lots and lots of thank you cards. That counts as exercise too, right?

I’ve worked out twice this week. That doesn’t seem like enough.
Three times a week sounds better.. let’s make that at least three times a week.
I will exercise at least three times a week for the next two months, and then I can consider this goal achieved.
