Since tuesday I´ve been doing relaxation daily.
I´m gonna have to be more disciplined in applying this new habit than when waking up early or meditating, in the sense that I can´t do it at exactly the same time everyday.
So I have to be careful not to forget and to take the time to do this.
I can decide though at the morning of each day when approximately I could have my relaxation, and am going to.
I´m going to do my relaxation after work, it´s not recommended to do it in the morning, shortly after you´ve just waken up, because you´re likely to just fall asleep, and I´m sure I would!
It feels really good to do this. I feel more energetic and focused after but still relaxed, calm.
Gudjon Bergmann, Icelandic writer, speaker and practical philosopher says in his new book that not doing relaxation is like taking the water tank out of your car.
Noone would take the water tank out of their car, would they? No! Why? because the car would, how do you say in english, burn over(?) Even if you´re just driving really slow, the car needs the water tank to keep the engine from overheating.
Gudjon says the same applies for us.
Even if there´s not much stress in your life exactly now, today, there´s always some normal stress (stress is not always negative, but the consequences always are) going on.
If you don´t take the time to wind down each day it accumulates and you “burn out/over.”
Also, there will be times when there is some real stress in our lives, and will Really need the benefits of relaxation, but if you haven´t done it for years, it´s not very likely you can do it just then.
I´m not gonna wait till things are really bad.
