I’m ready to call this one a success. The only sports I’ve event paid attention to is ETSU’s game in the first round of the NCAA tourney. That was it. I didn’t even watch the freaking Super Bowl! The spell is broken, freeing up time for reading, writing, and other things.
I’m not nearly the sports nut that I have been in the past, but in the last few years I feel like I’m wasting cycles on something that I don’t really get any return on. Why spend that 10-15 minutes a day reading the sports page or that hour a day watching Sportscenter when I could be reading a book or learning something useful? If I were to actually achieve this goal in 2009 it would be off in 2010 because of the World Cup… of course.
