Adopt a child

We turned in the application to our social worker on Monday. We still have a couple of things left to do: complete our biographies and submit referrals from friends. I gave my friend Karen one referral form to fill out on Wednesday. I need two more and spouse needs all three.

Spouse and I completed our classes some time ago. Right now we’re bogged down in the paper work. Sheesh. If everyone who wanted to be a parent had to go through all this, there’d be far fewer children in foster care.

We finally started taking our foster parent/adoption pre-service classes last week. We had TB tests the week before (negative). Monday we get fingerprinted. And we’re both still working on our biographies. There’s so much involved when deciding to adopt out of foster care, but I believe it will be worth every piece of red tape.
