That was when I got to perform with him. I sang God Bless the Child at Malcolm X Elementary in Berkeley during a special Bobby McFerrin fundraising concert for our school. When I was doing my album I imagined having him on it, but my producer said it would probably cost $10,000 and even then I’d have to personally know him—the record company would never let me get close to someone like him.
