learn to sail

Wo-hoo!
Need to take the Basic Coastal Cruising Exam now – finished the course back 3 weeks ago, but had no time to read the book. Oh well! I’ll get it done soon. And obviously, need to put more hours into sailing over the summer… And then – next summer I will line up my friends to go sailing in Greece!!! :)

Yep, I’m going for the Intermediate this weekend – it’s kind of funny cause I’ve done the more advanced course last weekend, so hopefully I’ll feel like I know it all back on the J22. (28’ boat was way more difficult to operate).
Also, Sunday i should be taking my first test, and I was reading for it yesterday while getting my toenails done… It’s sad that was the only time I found to do it, but I’ll go to a Starbucks and read more for the test tonight.

Super strong wind, nice bunch of folks in the Basic Coastal Cruising Class, and I got to sail a 28 foot sailboat!! I am still pretty bad at docking it, but I can sail it ok – steering, tacking and jibing is just fine!

Woo-hoo!! I’m getting better at it!

Taking a theory class tomorrow, and 2 days of training on the lake over the weekend. Can’t wait!

This weekend.. Will need to take intermediate, then basic coastal cruising, and finally bareboat chartering. Hopefully, will have my license by the end of the summer – or maybe by September!

First weekend of May – that’s when I’m going to do it.
I’ll be taking it one at a time, but hopefully I’ll be done with the second class by early June too. And sometimes in August/September – maybe – bareboat charter from Galveston!

And immediately got rained on. Rescheduled for the next available weekend.
