team give

haven’t posted much on this as i didn’t have much to say. that’s changed now.

disclaimer—i’m on the board of Seattle Works who is hosting this new initiative…

now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about team give. this is pretty cool in that it’s a way of forming a giving circle with others locally, and you all learn together how to be better investers in the community.

why do this? well a couple of reasons. one—amplifies the impact of your dollar. sure every dollar counts, but pool your money with say 10 other folks and you make a more sizeable impact than a donation of $25.

another reason is that this helps you make the decision about how your money is spent. you’ll learn about different opportunities, and how to be a savvy giver. if you want to get more involved (other than through financial means) there’s that too!

lastly, and perhaps the best part of this - we connect you with others. it’s great to go out and do good, but it’s a lot more fun if you do it with others who have your back :)

will it increase giving locally? who knows. sounds pretty neat though. for more info, read all about team give here
