read every book I own

in my bedroom alone, i have 24 books that i have not read. that’s not including the gigantic shelf of books downstairs in the living room… something tells me this is going to take a while.

Let’s see if I can explain myself in short… I’m a 17 year old girl who, unlike a lot of her friends, loves to read for fun. I decided to start reading as much as possible; now with this goal, I can most likely accomplish that with time. It also means I can save time by not going to the library or the bookstore. (yes, I go to both places for fun; not many 17 year olds do that, I know) =]

I guess this started around last month for me, when I read Lord of the Flies. It was assigned by my English teacher and I loved it. It made me want to read more, so I picked up Jane Eyre (from my own library), which was amazing to say the least. Once I finished, I wanted to keep reading more books, but with my assigned books in English, it’s hard to pick up a new one with my time restraints. I was assigned The Picture of Dorian Gray, which was, to me, a dull read with a good ending. We have one more assigned book for my class – The Dubliners, which I know nothing about.

Well, so much for the entry being short. Right now, in my own home library, I’m reading Wuthering Heights. We’ll see what I’m going to read after that, but I still haven’t read The Lord of the Rings trilogy. That might be a good place to start. =]
