I need to rekindle my spiritual life. I have not been spiritual for a while now, however I have continued to say prayeres now and then… Not as a true spiritual student but as an amateur…

God's Dragon has written 11 entries about this goal
Seems like there are always people we can help. We need only be aware and open hearted. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear…That is so true…
Just watched a PBS Wayne Dyer TV program where he talked about Baba Ram Dass, his recovering from stroke, talked about his sources of inspiration, his mom, his daughter, Don Mc Lean, Vincent Van Goh…
brought a couple of tears to my eyes… :(
I know I have not been here lately much…
But I want you to know that 43T has a special place in ma heart…
May all enjoy the day in company of family and loved ones or both…
and if you do not have a valentine…ask God…your HIgher Power…whatever you conceive Him Her or It to be…
and God will grant the desires of your heart…
Hello. It has been a while since I have made any comments on my own goals…This is the result of my having visited other people’s blogs, websites, and yes… posting on my own new creations…
Today I am feeling a little ticked off…Not that noone does not feel those kinds of emotions on a regular basis or anything…
However, I am looking at my angry feelings today from a non attached point of view…It is interesting to have been experimenting with regular meditation practices, consistently, for a while…It is also interesting to have a new view of reality from the point of view of Buddhist thinking, whuch actually is no thinking, but thinking at the same time…
Anyway, it is actually interesting also because from what I have studied in Christian literature, the two views do not conflict with each other, they rather complement each other…
So…you are asking yourself…What in hell has this to do with Spirituality? Well, my friend, a lot…
It means that I can humbly assert that the Buddha’s four noble truths are true, are becoming true in my life…
I encourage you to give your thinking head a break, meditate on a regular basis, and…see for yourself…
Peace,
Growing spiritually means that you are going to nurture that relationship with your higher power, on a daily basis, no matter what happens. That’s how we can continue to know God, and to continue to have a good relationship with Him.
Why Worship
Sermon by Rev. Alan Taylor
Preached at Unity Temple Unitarian Universalist Congregation
November 28, 2004
When I was growing up, my family attended the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bakersfield, California. The congregation called itself a fellowship and were quick to point out that they were not a church. They seemed non-religious, even anti-religious. God and prayer were spoken of only in contempt and jest. And I remember distinctly noting that they called their meeting, ‘Sunday Services’ not ‘Worship Services.’ And so when I re-discovered Unitarian Universalism in a church that emphasized the centrality of worship, it was a new and wonderful experience. In time, worship became essential to my own life.
I intuitively know why the people that cheered this goals of mine did cheered it. Well, I think it is time for me to comment on this goal, which I still pursue on a daily basis.
I no longer pick The Bible as my daily dose for spiritual things. I do love some books in that great book of all times. However I have a bad taste experience from a relationship I once had that left my life in shambles. I consider that event to have been my mid-life crisis, and hope and pray I don’t go thru something even close to that for the rest of my earthly life. To make a long story short and suitable for all audiences, this person was an avid Bible reader, but as time went on, things went sour and we broke off. I had to have a period of restoration, mentally and emotionaly as a result of the events that transcribed. I no longer pursue relationships eother same sex or opposite where issues are not talked about from a personal point of view, ie. You need to… You will go… if you don’t…
I am now happily married to my beautiful and caring wife. I thank God everyday for the kind of relationship I have with her.
I still go to church with her, a church that deals with practical Christianity and the positive qualities of God.
Our church is not exclusive, and we do enjoy a fellowship with a few good quality Christians.
So then, why growing spiritually is still a goal in my life?
Because I do want to continue to get to know God better. Because it is the answer to today’s challenges. Because it is the best activity I can engage in….
It also takes guts, patience, perseverance, steadfastness, humility, persistence, dedication and the help of family, friends and God…
I called a friend today that really had his ears open for me. It is so Fucking invaluable to have friends like that!
I wouldn’t give up my friends for nothing!
