The most difficult parts of the God Delusion are trying to understand Dawkins’s explanation of Darwinian evolution. Without some background in the subject, I don’t think most readers can appreciate or understand his analysis of evolution and his arguments against theism. The education system in this country no doubt is not doing a good job and helping students be scientifically literate, thus we can see why so many people still cling religious beliefs.

Started re-reading The God Delusion. It’s so much better the second time around. This time I’m not stopping to underline text or jot notes. I’m merely reading to capture what I missed the first time. I think the first time I read the book, I read it too fast, and I didn’t enjoy it as much I do now. Now I’m reading it after having read about five other books by atheist authors, as well viewing a couple dozen YouTube videos featuring debates between atheists and theists. It’s really interesting to witness how this debate is unfolding. Eventually the religious believes that people hold so dearly today will be a thing of the past, or, on the other hand, the religious convictions may be seeds for greater misery if we don’t keep religious cultures and institutions in check.
