the moments in our lives should be spent living passionately. i can imagine no other way. if not, what is the purpose? today for me was a passionate day. i did not just go through the motions, but i lived. i literally stopped to smell the flowers on the ground. i made eye contact with strangers, i hummed ( i always do). i rode on a random grocery cart that was on the sidewalk. i walked from the library back to school (40 mins)

“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”
- Norman Vincent Peale
I like this quote, it was on the right hand corner of the screen and it seemed apropo to my goal. This week was so good. I noticed a running theme of passion and nonconformity. I actually watched this great movie called Off the Map that i would recommend,a documentary called “Off the Grid: Life on the Mesa” and I’m reading Revolutionary Road. In some way all of these people were trying to break free of conditioning, and decided to think for themselves.
I don’t want to forget how to live, i think society has conditioned us enough on how to survive and exist. Sometimes i see a stranger and i smile and i notice the sadness the incompleteness. Everything is done so mindlessly like we’re on automatic. A couple of days ago i mentally noted that the words “practical” and “realistic” will no longer be a part of my vocabulary. They are limiting words that are really of no use. If something is not impossible i see no reason why it should be impractical or unrealistic. Sometimes I think the problem with people is that we think too much, something that i also admit to doing. In my opinion, what separates us from other living organisms is our complexity, our multiple functions, our depth, our grasp and our awareness. Not to sound corny, but all our “answers” are within us. We have all the available resources to discover our purposes, our truths, and passions. Unfortunately, we are too accustomed to being spoon fed thoughts. We are taught what to think about this and that, blank vs. blank and it’s always just a two-sided thing, and it’s not. i don’t think for the most part that society consciously conditions us, but i believe that most of us are led by example, until we see better we won’t do better. But in everything observe, ask urself the significance, notice relationships between things, how does that one treat this one. Do you notice patterns, whatever it is be aware.
A great quote: The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware. -Henry Miller
