Learn to play the piano

So, as a pre-pubescent child, I was denied the opportunity to express myself musically with the help of an instrument. So, it’s always been a secret passion of mine to learn something, but especially the piano and/or violin. I’ve been told it’s way too late to start the violin, but I can type, so I should be able to play the piano, right? Plus, I’m totally addicted to Fiona Apple, and it would be awesome to be able to play her stuff myself. Dorky, I know.
