I find that the more I write, the better I feel. I started keeping a journal when I was nine. It wasn’t a very good journal, meaning it wasn’t very deep or anything, but it got me in the habit of writing. I named my second journal after my best friend because Anne Frank had named her diary “Kitty.” So, my second journal was a series of letters to my friend. Since then I’ve written boxes full of journals. This one’s good. This one is where I get my act together.

I used to be religious about my journal writing. In recent years, I have written less and my mental health has suffered for it. I plan to start writing just a little bit each night and hope to see some improvements in my mental state. I don’t know myself anymore.
