backpack through south america

I am always telling people that the best way to travel is to just do it. And here I am, not able to at the moment, failing my own advice. It’s a problem of money and career advancement. Currently my father just returned from Costa Rica, my brother’s in Brazil, two good friends are in Peru, my ex-roommate is going to Argentina, and a good friend yesterday announced he’s going to South Africa and India.

My brother just bought a ticket to Brazil. Wish I could go, but I can’t wait to hear his stories. I hope he has fun, and perhaps he’ll bring back his “friend” because I too thought she was quite the catch.

I drug my brother to Asia with me and now he’s caught the traveling bug. He’s planning on going to Brazil in August. I also have some friends going to Peru in August. What can I say, I’m jealous! But I’m in the middle of moving and starting a new job, so it’s unfortunately not in the cards right now. This career stuff gets in the way, but I need to get to logging some hours for my IDP. At this rate I’ll almost be 30 before I can even start taking my licensing tests. I want to spend a good six months there, definitely no less than three.
