Ick! Well I’ve dropped some money (there you go NCARB), spent some dreadfully boring hours weeding through years of hours, now I just need to make sure my boss signs off on the damn thing, and soon. What a lousy process. Now I need to stay on top of logging my hours. Yippeeeee!

Oh NCARB – WHY??? This is the worst sort of activity and yet I’m doing it willingly. I get to go through 2 years of time cards and meticulously file them away in the IDP categories. Each unit is 8 hours, I need 700 of them. The difficult categories to collect hours will be Building Cost Analysis, Bidding and Contract Negotiation, Construction Phase – Office, and Construction Phase – Observation. We even need community service – 80 hours worth!
So I haven’t dished out all the cash to even get my name into NCARB’s list, but I have started studying. I currently meet every Wednesday night at my favorite coffee house (the Coffee Cat) and study SITE PLANNING with one of my friends. Terribly exciting. We draw contours, drainage swales, parking spots and then argue about whether or not the “solution” answer is even practical.
