WOW…practice really does pay off. I’m sort of proud of the callouses on the ends of my fingers. My computer went on the blink for awhile so I printed out a bunch of tabs and bought a chord book and just started working it out. Then I started playing along with the songs I was learning. My changes are much faster now (I still have a problem with Bb) and my strumming is starting to get more consistent. I can’t really sing and keep it all going too, but I’m sure that will come in time. I love learning this. I’ve promised myself an electric guitar or a resonator after I have played a 10 song set in front of people. Here is my set list:

I picked up a new guitar lessons computer program. I really love it! “Instant Play Guitar” It’s not quite Esteban, but “Guitars for Dummies” wasn’t cutting it. The best thing is that I’m starting to feel a flow to my music and my fingers are finding strings and chords a little faster now. Sometimes they don’t land perfect, but I try to keep up and keep trying until I get it right. I remember what it was like to learn music in band class and this is very similar. Well worth it! I’d say I’m about 10% of where I want to be on this goal.
