In praise of death: a
fallen petal curling like
an almost new moon.

Away by the sea,
no wireless. She sits in
sand, watches the waves.

cool, squishy white rice,
tuna and avacado:
sushi is my drug.

Sun, iced mint tea. Aaah…
“There’s leaves in your drink.” “Shut up,
“you’re spoiling the mood.”

Happy Birthday, bro.
Your gift is an early poem-
I break rules for you!

Today’s remembrance,
under dusty skies, has an
odd luminescence.

We chased clouds ‘til the
wind caught you up; now you sail
on wider oceans.

Getting under way
soon. It’s a road trip weekend,
and I’m out of week!

Wrote a poem last night,
but forgot it in grey dreams.
The moon was blooming.

swimsuit- twenty bucks.
ice tea- one. pool chair- fifteen.
burn- so not worth it.

You have killed my grass,
hateful season. I’m leaving.
It’s not me; it’s you.
