come out of the closet

I mean, I didn’t really do it, but it’s not a secret. It’s not like I killed a guy or something. If people want to know that I’m bisexual, they’ll know, I really don’t care.

Okay, so I’m bisexual, and no one knows (even though I’ve know for about five years – I’m 15). In my US History class on Thursday, we were learning about how it used to be illegal to marry out of your own race. Everyone who gave their opinion on it said that it’s okay to marry someone of a different race. Then, our teacher passed out an article about gay marriage and we talked about how making it illegal is the same as making interracial marriage illegal. I couldn’t believe how many people disagreed. One guy claimed that it’s not okay because if it’s legal “eventually everyone will be gay and there’ll be no human race.” What?! That’s crazy. We also talked about how marriage isn’t that sacred anymore because of our high divorce rate, yet people say that gay marriage will ruin the sanctity of it despite that it really is already lost. I don’t know… I just can’t believe how many people in my school could actually feel that way. I wanted to cry so badly. I really should just come out, there are a lot of people out in my school… but I’m still scared. Plus, I’m not going to run around yelling, “Guess what, everyone? I’m bi!”
