I’m housesitting for my professor who is away for the next few weeks – in addition to getting free range of back issues of linguistics journals, I also get to take care of the greenhouse.
Today’s haul: a full bag of baby mustard greens and end of the season arugula (going to flower and getting all wrapped up in the nasturtiums, which meant I had an excuse to dig in the dirt to get the plant out. excellent.)
I took the empty pot labeled “basil” and took it back to the dorm on my bike, and planted my own little ailing Thai sweet basil plants – this means that a.) they will perhaps stop looking so sad and b.) I get to leave a pot of sweet basil (Keats not included.) at the greenhouse when I leave as a thank-you.
