if everyone did what they could to make the world a better place, the world would be a better place. i think the key here is to make it easy for people to do this. most people, i believe, want to do the right thing. they’re just not sure how to do it and don’t have the time or knowledge to figure it out.
someone had an entry that at their job they signed up for a “flexible volunteer program”. basically there’s a menu of volunteering opportunities and you sign up for what you want when you want to. this, in my opinion, would be great if it was more prevalent, and would greatly increase volunteerism. wouldn’t solve all the world’s problems, but it would help.
