thank you for the invite, miss otter.
(1) RECYCLING: what are the processes? why is it not more prevalent? is there a limit to how much can be recycled?
there’s a couple of things that happened that really brought this into my head:
1- in penn station, i was looking for a recycling bin to put my water bottle in. there wasn’t any, and the garbage was filled with them. it’d be so easy to have plastic bottle recycling bins there – you’re talking thousands and thousands and thousands of bottles. but is the capacity there to make use of all the bottles that would be collected? and if not, why?
2- marcal towels has on the packaging “paper from paper, not from trees”. and their products aren’t expensive. is this legit? why wouldn’t more companies do this?
at my business we go through a lot of paper, and we don’t recycle. i’d like to, but i’ve looked into it and it’s really difficult, if not impossible to do this.
anyone know what’s up with recycling? it seems like there are some very simple ways to get more recycling happening, so why isn’t it?
