Several disappointing sites

Most of my current websites all use the arcane method of web design. That is, some graphical application to do a mock up, chopped up into pictures, layout done via tables, and maybe a CSS element the program inserts for removing underline, if that’s even there.
I would like to remove myself from that altogether, and be able to build a site that is completely CSS compliant, or at least for my sites to be, whether I build them or not isn’t that relevant. But seeing as I currently have more time than money, I will need to do this on my own, for now.
I’m not sure when I’ll have time to actually start on this project, as I have a lot of other things currently happening, but this is one of those things I wish to do.
