finally giving it a go

Last week I went to WW – again. This weekend was my first weigh-in after restarting the program. I lost 2.2 pounds – yay! I was surprised because the day before weigh-in I overate and exceeded my daily points allowance – and my flex points for the week – but I guess my efforts the previous days paid off.

Now the hard part comes – to keep up the effort and start exercising. I just have to mentally make smaller goals so I can achieve the bigger ones.

a new beginning

Today I have started with a clean slate. I am around 180 lbs. and want to lose 50 lbs. eventually, but will stick to a 5% and 10% shorter term loss.

I am trying the new Slim-Fast approach and have my food for the day already prepared – a veggie burger and shake for lunch, yogurt, apple, triscuits, and strawberries for snacking. (I already had my cheese snack.) Then a “sensible” meal for dinner and a banana afterward, if I’m still hungry.

I know I should incorporate exercise into my plan but I would rather focus on one thing for a week or two, then add more activities into my plan. I just really need to believe that I can control my eating first and emotionally move on from there.

Back at it again

So I’m back to Weight Watchers and have started exercising. This time I am motivated by necessity – doctor’s orders. I have high cholesterol and am taking a medicine which may cause diabetes so in order to stay well I have to be more diligent in my efforts. Yesterday I attended WW and was .2 lbs. down, then in the evening instead of sitting I got on the treadmill for 20 minutes then the exercise bike for a few. I have to do this 3-4x a week to help prevent any weight gain and hopefully start losing weight, and soon.

backsliding in a hurry

I’ve got to turn this around! I’ve started gaining back everything I had lost earlier this year. Of course now I am beating myself up over it, too.

Will be headed to WW for a weigh-in to assess the damage – not sure if I will stay for the meeting or not… have to run an errand today, too. Grrr…

doing better

Joined WW and have my first weigh-in tomorrow. Hopefully weighing in for someone else and paying for it will keep me on track.

Edit: I’m officially down 1.6 lbs. :) I didn’t cheat the system or try and starve myself yesterday to do it… just ate what the number of points allowed and didn’t go over. I also made sure my serving sizes were actual servings according to WW; if it looked like 2 servings I calculated as two in my points.

Go to the next meeting – you can do it!

hmmm... not so great

I’ve been caving in to my inner child, dealing with some family issues and a new job and EATING to assuage my stress. Candies, cookies, donuts to stay awake and get me through the afternoon slump. ACK!

HAVE to turn this around – first by getting enough sleep and eating right so I don’t get sleepy and have energy to get through the day. Oh yeah – and getting back on an exercise routine, too. That would help.

Time to reverse my re-gaining trend of the past few weeks and start LOSING weight again!
