I’ve just signed up for a course to become a medical transcriptionist, so college will have to be put on the back burner for now.
But just for now.
I want to walk with my BA (or BS), and I’m not going to give up this dream. It’s just postponed.
Once I complete my medical transcription course, I plan on taking at least two classes at the local JC. I HAVE to finish college so that at least one of Samuel’s parents will have a degree.

I’m trying this again. I’m going to spend the next few months praying and asking my Father in Heaven to direct my paths. Next entry will deal with what I’m leaning toward, and mabye a little brain storming.

I called for an appointment with a councelor today. What a joke. I was on the phone for three minutes just trying to navigate the automated phone message. Then, when I finally reached the proper contact, it went to voice mail.
Fortunately, they accept walk-ins from 7:30am-5:00pm. So, 7:30am it is. I asked my boss if I could get to work an hour late, and he acquiesed. I was hoping to avoid any delays with an appointment, but this will have to work.
I’m not entirely nervous, since it’s just a meeting. I just hope I get to meet with someone and that it’s not a complete waste of time.
Well, time for bed if I’m going to make it by 7:30am.

I received my transcripts last week. I was shocked to see how many times I had withdrawn from classes. YIKES! I ended up with a decent GPA, but I’m going to really have to kick up to even make up for my foolish past.
But that is the past. Tomorrow I am going to call the college and get an appointment with a councelor. I must see how many of these 78 units are transferrable. I’m praying they all are, but it’s been 8 years since I last attended class. If my Spanish and English are still viable, I will be the happiest student ever. Seriously.
Step three will really be contingent upon what the councelor says. I’m also looking for a job near home, which will also determine where I attend class this fall. But I’m so glad that step 1 is out of the way!
I’m actually doing this!!! FINALLY!

I ordered my transcripts yesterday, and they should come in next week. After that, I need to make an appointment with the counselor to see how many of my units are still applicable. I’ll also discuss with councelor the business program. I’m going to eventually transfer to one one of the Cal State’s, so I plan on getting my AA at whichever jc I choose.
Step one:Get transcripts (pending)
Step two: counelor meeting; determine course of action
Step three: pick a college & apply
Step four: apply for financial aid
Step five: register for classes
