I decided to go through the recruiting process at school this Fall, so I’m pretty close to finding this great job! It means a lot of work on my resume and a lot of company research. I’m nervous, but excited!

1. Find perfect job function CHECK!
2. Research different companies and establish contact! Network! Be remembered!
3. Research and prioritize aspects of companies (to help pick out the best fit):
Industry
Company Culture
Geographic location
Advancement opportunity
Salary/benefits
Company financial outlook
4. Re-work resume
5. Prepare for, practice for, and blow them away at recruiting interviews!
6. Negotiate!
etc. etc. etc… lots of things missing from this list, but there is a lot of research to do before anything else.
In a moment of clarity, I finally realized just what that perfect job might be (a critical first step)! Now all I have to do make myself into the perfect candidate and find that job!
I don’t have the perfect job. In fact, it’s beyond stressful and some days I want to cry from the pressure. But it’s great experience, and I’ll need the skills to get to my perfect job.
I’m at least doing things that I love. Once I truly learn it, I’ll look for something else in the same field with a good working environment and good pay, and I think I’ll be well on my way! I just have to stick it out…
