Minor setback

with some pretty major car repairs. sigh

Back burner for a short spell

Although I’m still committed to paying off my credit card this year, I have to move this goal down my list a little bit temporarily. I plan to finish school full-time this year, which will be a setback financially for now, but will pay off in that I’ll be closer to that great job that I WILL get after graduating (not to mention the money I save on tuition by going full-time instead of part-time).

It’s really scary to do this. But considering everything that is going on now, I think this is the right decision.

Visa is shrinking!

Just took my tax refund and made another giant payment on my Visa card—I think the next payment I make will pay it off completely! After this I’ll start focusing on my car and student loans, but the Visa was a big deal for me and will be a major win when I can cross that one off the list.

It's a long journey

...but I’m still making strides. I just made another big payment on my credit card. I think my tax refund should cover the rest, then the credit card debt will be GONE! I can then focus my efforts on the car and student loans.

A long way to go still, but I’ll be really glad when the credit card balance reads zero. :)

Chipping away

I’m making pretty good progress at getting rid of my credit card debt. I should have it all paid off by the beginning of next year! I’ve also been making a point to put little bits of money into savings every month. It’ll be a few years still before I have enough saved to buy a house, but it does give me a bit of comfort whenever I look at my savings balance to see that cushion there.

My student loans are another story, however. It scares me to keep adding to them while I’m trying to finish my MBA, but I think if I focus on paying off my credit card and my car right now, hopefully when I finish I’ll have a decent job and be able to start working away at the student loans.

This year: credit card

I just made a couple of major payments on my credit card, paying off half of it. I’ll have the rest of it paid off by the end of the year. This is so exciting! I’ve been falling further into credit card debt ever since I got out of college, so it feels great to get rid of it.

The next thing will be to save for a house and start working on paying off my student loans. For now, though, it feel like things are starting to stabilize, which is such a relief.
