Positive: He is alive, the brain tumor seems to have been successfully removed. He is home with family.

Challenging: Still being fed through a tube. Tongue retracted and needs to be trained back into normal place and then he needs to learn to talk again. Breathing through a hole in his neck.

I don’t know any more details except for…he got our card yesterday and my part was translated into Spanish for him.

Did I happen to mention that this guy was a high ranking judge? He didn’t want the surgeon to be nervous during the surgery so he didn’t mention his job. Then he got horrible care in the hospital..until his family mentioned who he was! Corruption!
On that note..I will end this update.

Still receiving medical care. Not sure how things are going at this point.

He got some type of bacterial infection.

I heard that he was leaving the ICU. Some of our family is traveling to visit him (they should be there now). In the surgery the speech part of his brain was affected(?). He will have to have therapy to learn how to talk again, what a drag for him!!! He’s 61 and he has to learn to speak again. Of course, it’s wonderful that he is still alive after what he went though. I will report more and keep hoping for a fast recovery. His daughter and his brother are both Doctors so it looks like he is in good hands!

Finally we were able to reach the family. Apparently they were going to operate this morning. Then his blood pressure dropped. As soon as it normalized he went in for surgery on his throat/ neck area (not exactly sure). He survived the surgery. One really horrible thing to think about is that because the surgery on his head was on the back of his head, he has had to do all of his recovery face down, what a nightmare when you feel you can not breathe.

I am happy it looks like he will get through this. He is a good man and I wish the best for him. Thanks for all of your good thoughts.

A relative of ours had surgery yesterday for a tumor in his head. He came out of surgery and hasn’t been able to talk because his neck is completely swollen. Today around 3pm he wrote a note to his daughter saying that he couldn’t breathe and that he was dying. The doctor wasn’t around to help. The doctor came later (intensive care) and could not perform surgery on him because he had developed tachycardia. There is not much we can do to help him make it through the night. If you believe in sending out healing thoughts or prayers please send some his way. Thank you!!! Tomorrow they will do surgery to open up his breathing if his heartbeat goes back to normal.
