grow roses.

Look 99% better thanks to getting more sun. They are still in pots. I bet they would be happier out but I don’t know where to stick them. Marking this goal as done for now.

They all looked horrible! Yellow leaves, no new growth. I thought I was doing everything right. Anyway, my landlord cut back the hibiscus bush and the jade plant. I don’t know if it’s a direct result but, my roses look better! More sun.
I added some ‘worm tea’ to them today and hopefully that will also help. Lets see if I can bring my roses back from near death.

No flowers, some insect damage. I need to get some spray and add some epsom salts today.

I spotted some aphids today. I picked off the leaves that have the aphids. I am going to find out if there are any ants nearby contributing to the situation.
Bummer.

On a brighter note, one of my flowers already has a few buds (I guess I already mentioned that;).

One of them already has little buds. I can’t believe it. The plant is still really small and I have only had it for a month.

I haven’t had these bare root roses long. They already have lots of leaves and are growing fast. It’s not easy to see them here in this photo, they sort of blend in with the surroundings.

They are all three in their pots. I soaked them each for a few hours before I put them in the dirt. It’s been raining. They are getting soaked. Two of them have really healthy leaf growth already. The third, ‘generic’ and cheaper rose (my precious double delight) has just the slightest sign of something poking out. Lets hope they are leaves! I want big roses to impress all of you with in the summer:)

I bought this one because of it’s reputation for having a strong fragrance. I will soak all three in water and plant them in pots in the next few days. This will be my first time growing roses in pots, I hope it works!♥

This is another rose I purchased yesterday. I bought it because it has a strong fragrance and the white will help keep the red and pink from clashing.

I purchased this bare root rose yesterday. I have grown this rose before, it has a very nice deep red color and some fragrance as well. The color looks much deeper than in this photo.
