i’ve already done a few small things – trying to buy organic and local (purely food-wise), switching to eco-friendly laundry detergent, cutting out bottled water. there’s always something else to do: lately i’ve been trying not to leave water running (when brushing my teeth, at starbucks, etc.).
i seriously need to call the city to get a recycling bin… i’m ashamed i haven’t done this in the year and a half or so i’ve lived here. i could bullshit about it being inconvenient having to call during the business week but really it just comes down to doing it. do it tomorrow, angela.
i’m also going vegetarian again. i eat very little meat anyway, maybe chicken once a month or so and never red meat. i’m on the fence about seafood – it’s really rare that i have it, and it doesn’t have quite the same impact, i think… but i should probably just cut it all out. strange how i can only think of one vegetarian friend of mine who doesn’t eat fish. it’s been a few weeks since i had any meat, i think; mostly it’s just an issue of being absentminded.
i need to get my starbucks to recycle… somehow i don’t see that happening. SMG is not a fan of spending their millions.
