be truly loved by someone I truly love

we’re getting married soon. it will take a lot more time to be convinced that i’m truly loved. long distance is hard.

i wonder what will be the moment when i see that i’m truly loved by someone i truly love.

i truly love myself, which is definitely the foundation.

i recognize that if someone i love doesn’t love himself there’s not much of a chance that he’s gonna be able to truly love me.

i admit that people are different and that not every relationship you get into is doomed to die a horrible, depressing death. you just gotta start paying more attention to the people you attract and the people you think you might want to be with.

i know i want to be with someone who has a good relationship with his family and who people enjoy being around.

i recognize it’s healthier for me to be with someone who truly wants to learn and grow, to change things that don’t work for them and strengthen the positives in their life.

i need to be with someone who embraces being with me. i need to give no more than 2 seconds of my time to anyone whose instinct is to push me away.

aldy told me 2 things tonight that made me feel hopeful about attaining this goal:

“we never fight {which isn’t true, but it’s sweet that he said that}. your teeth bite your tongue a lot of time.”

and

“you teach me love.”

for sure, i know this is a completely different feeling from the last person i truly loved, who was never able to truly love me back.
